Spring Session Starts This Week!

Hi Students!
I hope you have enjoyed your winter break and are refreshed for settling back into school/work/activity routines. The Uncaged Fiddlers had an incredible collaboration concert December 2nd with the Shiloh Step Irish Dancers, Bija Children's Choirs, and Play Marimba! We also had a fun time Solstice Caroling around the neighborhood December 21st. Thanks to all who participated and made both events so special. Here a few photos!
If you haven't already, please be sure to log into your new student portal! Your Calendar should have all of your classes for this session as well as the concert Saturday May 4th; your Online Resources section has playgroup info and our new liability waiver (one per family; if you haven't already, please sign and either email or hand deliver BEFORE your first class); and I'm in the process of migrating all practice notes and videos into your Repertoire section. You can view your tuition balance, read my cancellation policy, and even mark off when you won't be able to make it to class to receive makeup credit to use on our new once-monthly Thursday makeup classes! I am excited to seeing how the new portal helps everything run smoothly.
I have some sad news I would like all students to know before classes begin. A few days ago our sweet cat Cricket passed away. He liked to curl up next to students as they played, snuggle in parents' laps while they waited, and of course plopped into empty instrument cases with glee. I know he was loved by so many of you and will be missed very much.
I look forward to resuming our classes this week! We have a lot of fun pieces to work on for our May and August concerts. If you haven't yet, please be sure to check out your portal and sign your waiver -- if you have any questions or need help logging in, please let me know!

Hi students!
Hope you have had a great Thanksgiving break! I look forward to seeing many of you at our big collaboration show with choirs, dancers, and marimbas next *Sunday, Dec 2nd* at 6:30pm in the Sebastopol Community Cultural Center's main hall! The performers have been working hard to put together an unforgettable show. Get your tickets here!
As we approach the end of our session (only three weeks left!?!), I highly recommend checking out the app Note Rush -- a perfect way to practice reading! Flexible difficulty, adjustable for different levels and instruments, and super fun. I can even create (and send to you) levels tailor-made for each student! This is an excellent way to keep practice enthusiasm high during our winter break.
Speaking of winter break, we'd love to see you at Winter Solstice Caroling Friday, December 21st at 4pm! Meet at 2028 Creekside Rd and go singing around the neighborhood. Song lists will be provided and all ages are welcome. Bring friends and family!
Are you planning to continue in the spring? If you have not yet registered, I recommend doing so by Nov 30th to reserve your spot before open enrollment begins.
Everyone who has enrolled, check out your new student portal, accessible from our new Uncaged Musicians site! This amazing feature will be replacing Google classroom as our host for practice notes and studio communication and will also will be the place to get general info, check the schedule, sign up for makeups, and more. If you need any help logging in, let me know!
